US Soldiers Assaulted By Turkish Mob After Navy Ship Makes Port Call At Izmir
On Monday a mob of Turkish men attacked American soldiers who had been walking the streets of Izmir in southern Turkey, apparently as the US personnel were on liberty after the USS Wasp which they are attached to made port call.
Social media video shows a group of men surrounding one US soldier and while violently constraining him. The Turkish men then stick a white bag over his head in an effort to humiliate and possibly kidnap the American and those with him. The brief clip then shows a couple more US troops jumping in to push the Turkish men off their fellow soldier.

Americans from other states are reportedly flocking to an Aurora, Colorado, apartment complex that has allegedly been overrun by criminal Venezuelan gangs, despite Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (D) recently dismissing the dangerous situation.
“This is our fucking community!” said one tattooed man out of a megaphone while driving down a street in the area where the gangs have reportedly taken over.
US Seizes Venezuelan President Maduro’s Plane
The US government has confiscated an airplane reportedly used by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, claiming it violates Washington’s sanctions against Caracas, CNN reported on Monday.
The US has charged Maduro with drug trafficking and refused to recognize his victory in the last two Venezuelan presidential elections.
“Seizing the foreign head of state’s plane is unheard-of for criminal matters. We’re sending a clear message here that no one is above the law, no one is above the reach of US sanctions,” an unnamed Washington official told CNN, which first reported the story on Monday.
According to CNN, the plane is worth around $13 million and was seized in cooperation with Dominican authorities.

America’s massive hotel strike just got even bigger
Baltimore hotel workers are joining a massive nationwide strike against three major hotel chains during one of the biggest travel holidays of the year.
Unite Here, the union representing hotel workers, said approximately 200 hotel workers walked off the job in Baltimore at the Hilton Inner Harbor this morning.
Hotel union workers are now on strike across 25 US cities. More than 10,200 hotel workers at dozens of hotels stretching from Boston to the West Coast to Hawaii went on strike early Sunday morning.

Cox did not vote for Trump in 2016 or 2020, and he told CNN in July that he would not vote for him this year. The governor said the then-president's role in inciting the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol went too far.
Days later, after an assassination attempt on Trump at a Pennsylvania rally, Cox changed his mind.
Cox sent a letter to Trump explaining that his defiant response at the moment of the shooting had spurred a sudden reassessment and switch for Cox.
Cox, 49, said in his note that he believed Trump could save the country "by emphasizing unity rather than hate."
"You probably don't like me much," Cox wrote. "But I want you to know that I pledge my support."
Trump has not in turn endorsed Cox for reelection.
Trump Signals Support for Proposal that will Legalize Recreational Marijuana in Florida
President Donald Trump is continuing to moderate on social issues.
In a Truth Social post published this past weekend, the former president, who is a resident of Florida, expressed support for a ballot proposal that would legalize marijuana in the Sunshine State.
“In Florida, like so many other states that have already given their approval, personal amounts of marijuana will be legalized for adults with Amendment 3. Whether people like it or not, this will happen through the approval of the voters, so it should be done correctly,” Trump wrote Saturday.
