A building at Hill Air Force Base was evacuated Thursday
morning after the discovery of an "unusual smell," according to base
officials.
Kendahl Johnson, a spokesman for the base, said that the
odor was discovered around 9:40 a.m.
The building was subsequently evacuated, and Johnson said
"an undetermined number of individuals voluntarily went to area hospitals
for precautionary check-ups." He noted that the base is not aware of any
serious illness being caused by the smell.
