airman accused of stealing rifle from Salt Lake warehouse
An enlisted airman with the U.S. Air Force stationed at Hill Air Force Base has been arrested and accused of stealing a rifle from a warehouse in Salt Lake City.
Christopher Thomas Xaros, 22, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Thursday for investigation of theft of a firearm.
Salt Lake police were notified that a Tikka TX3 rifle was stolen from a pallet at a warehouse at 2900 W. California Ave. "Surveillance video showed (Xaros) taking the rifle from the pallet and smuggling it out of the warehouse," according to a police booking affidavit.
Police say Xaros is an employee of the warehouse and was identified by the manager.
