American Author Could Face Prison in Germany Over Satirical Swastika
A German court has found CJ Hopkins, an American writer living in that country, guilty of hate speech, which is treated as an unconstitutional activity. This overturned a previous acquittal by the Tiergarten District Court.
“Hate speech” in the case amounts to Hopkins using Nazi imagery to express his protest about Germany’s Covid-era policies, including what he called “New Normal Germany” – a satirical take on how that compares to Nazi Germany.
The imagery that caught the authorities’ attention was posted on X, including an illustration showing a white face mask with a white swastika superimposed on it.

Salt Lake man sent to prison for selling over 120,000 fake COVID vaccine cards
A Salt Lake man who sold at least 120,000 fake COVID-19 vaccination record cards during the pandemic was sentenced Thursday to a year in prison.
Nicholas Frank Sciotto, 34, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States in July, also faces a $40,000 fine and three years of probation.
Sciotto was living in Weber County when he started an online business printing and selling vaccine cards "mainly to persons in New York who were subject to tighter COVID restrictions," according to charging documents.
From about March to September in 2021, prosecutors say he used mostly Facebook to sell the cards at $10 each for orders of 10 or more cards, and $7.50 each for orders of 100 or more cards.
Sciotto posted on Facebook during that time period saying, "I know someone selling legit vacc cards cheap for people who don't want to partake in a science experiment," and sent an "image of stacks of COVID-19 vaccination record cards" to a contact through Facebook Messenger days later, the charges state.

Gary Peacock, 73, was filmed ranting and raving at skateboarder Pierce Kempton, 22, in Park City, Utah on September 22 while calling the cops on the younger man.
'I'm riding a bike, I have more rights than you!' Peacock, who lives in a $3.5 million Park City home, yelled at one point.
Later in the exchange, he tells the skateboarder: 'If I have it my way, you're going to jail. I'll press charges against you.'
'Perfect,' Kempton replied. But Peacock's furious phone call to police ended in a fine of $160 after he was cited for disorderly conduct.
Kempton meanwhile, was handed a smaller $130 fine for passing too closely, KPCW reported.
