In countries that mark May 1 as International Labor Day, the annual celebration of workers' rights produced a rare sight during the pandemic: large and closely packed crowds, with marchers striding shoulder-to-shoulder with clenched fists behind banners. In Turkey and the Philippines, police prevented the May Day protests, enforcing virus lockdowns and making hundreds of arrests. In France, some marchers battled with riot police.

The device would let you interact with Facebook’s upcoming augmented-reality glasses just by thinking.
Facebook says it has created a wristband that translates motor signals from your brain so you can move a digital object just by thinking about it.
How does it work? The wristband, which looks like a clunky iPod on a strap, uses sensors to detect movements you intend to make. It uses electromyography (EMG) to interpret electrical activity from motor nerves as they send information from the brain to the hand. The company says the device, as yet unnamed, would let you navigate augmented-reality menus by just thinking about moving your finger to scroll.

Anti-Trump Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) was brutally heckled by attendees of the Utah GOP convention on Saturday.
The convention in West Valley City erupted into loud boos and jeers as Romney’s face appeared on the big screen just before he stepped on stage.
The Utah GOP chair Derek Brown intervened shortly after, calling for the crowd to “show respect”, according to reporter Ben Winslow.
After his canned speech, Romney promptly left the Maverik Center without taking questions from the media.

He merely died of “cardiac failure” exactly two days after receiving the controversial vaccine.
