release Chinese research scientists who 'lied about working for People's Liberation
Army', say sources
- Sources told the Wall Street Journal Chinese government officials have warned American counterparts repeatedly and through multiple channels
- China warned the US it will take US nationals residing in China hostage
- The move, known as 'hostage diplomacy', would be in retaliation for the arrests of several Chinese scientists on US soil this year
- At least four scientists have been arrested and charged with visa fraud
- They are accused of lying to US immigration to come to work at US research universities all the while secretly working for the Chinese military
- China is demanding the DOJ drop the charges against them
- On one occasion in June, China threatened to detain an American if the US didn't let research scientist Juan Tang return to China, sources said
- Tang was arrested when a photo of her in a PLA uniform surfaced online

Militarizing the Federal Agencies
Currently there are 73 federal agencies that have full-time armed officers with arresting authority. According to a 2008 report by the Department of Justice, there were 120,000 full-time law enforcement officers working for federal agencies and 24 different federal agencies employed at least 250 full-time officers. Federal agencies with at least 250 full-time officers included the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Mint, U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Veterans Health Administration.

"Government has no authority to control a church?"
Well, that’s not precisely true because if a church receives tax dollars, it is obligated to give an account for the use of that money and slavishly obey the government’s demands. If a church takes its currency, they must accept state control. With nickels go nooses. What the government funds it runs. And finally, with shekels come shackles—always.
That is a good reason for church officials to refuse any government money. A free and independent church can and should refuse to obey any government order to close or limit attendance. Moreover, a church should never send information to the government except to support a member’s giving record. I would never send any other information to any government agency. After all, what does no mean? No law means no rule or regulation or requirement.
