Trump says US has tools to keep AI safe, concerns are part of 'sick conspiracy'
Trump said on Monday that the U.S. already has guardrails in place to regulate and prosecute AI companies, appearing to play down concerns expressed by industry leaders over the weekend about misuse of artificial intelligence.
"The only control or 'guardrails' that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!" Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that China would benefit from the doubt being cast on artificial intelligence development.
"We already have tremendous CRIMINAL and REGULATORY power over these companies! There is a SICK conspiracy going on against AI and Data Centers, and the only one that is happy about it is China."

Pentagon: Male, female troops must pass identical fitness tests to serve in 'combat arms' jobs
Combat's physical demands are no respecter of gender — so the fitness standards for troops in front-line positions must be the same for males and females.
That's the long-held opinion of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth — and one now codified by the Pentagon.
A recent Defense Department policy formally establishes "sex-neutral" physical fitness standards for troops across the Armed Forces assigned to military occupations classified as "combat arms."

Utah offers farmers an 'unprecedented' loan relief amid challenging year
- Utah offers 0% interest relief on agriculture loans from Nov. 1, 2026, to Oct. 31, 2027.
- Farmers can also defer payments up to 12 months.
- The decision follows severe drought and other challenges that have hurt state food producers.
Pehrson told KSL that he's heard several "horror stories" this year, which have left several farmers and ranchers considering leaving the industry.
The state estimates that 1,000 cattle were lost from this year's fires, while some had to buy hay for the first time. Many fruit growers were also left with little to no production from the spring freeze, resulting in the worst impacts there in over 50 years.
Costco raises price for Kirkland motor oil, sets purchase limit
- Costco raised Kirkland motor oil prices to $58 and limited purchases to two.
- Mobil 1 oil is also limited to five packs per membership at $44.
- Oil prices rose due to Middle East tensions impacting supply, affecting gasoline costs.
Costco's Kirkland Signature full-synthetic motor oil 5-quart two pack now costs around $58, well above the approximately $30 it had been selling for just last year. Costco is also only allowing customers to purchase two boxes a week.
Today's synthetic motor oil is heavily dependent on Group III base oils, which are mostly made from refining crude oil. It's estimated that the United States imports more than 40% of these oils from the Middle East, which has been dealing with disruptions to oil supplies since the start of the Iran war earlier this year.
The price for a barrel of Brent crude went above $109 on Monday morning as fighting in the Middle East keeps squeezing the global flow of oil
Trump makes chilling vow to keep US in Iran even AFTER war ends as gas prices skyrocket
Trump floated that the US may have a footprint in Iran long after the war ends, noting he may take a page out of his playbook for Venezuela.
Speaking about Iran over the weekend, Trump told reporters he is interested in remaining in the oil-rich Islamic Republic after the war's end to extract its liquid gold as a sort of prize.
After repeating that the war would likely end after the US midterm elections in November, the president said he may 'stay and keep the oil.'
'We’ll ultimately get out unless we decide to stay and keep the oil, like Venezuela,' Trump said.
'Messi of matadors' is tossed around between bull's horns while clinging on for his life - months after he was horrifically gored in Spain
Andres Roca Rey was lifted into the air and clung on for his life after he was impaled and carried around the amphitheatre in Arles, southern France, last week
Andres Roca Rey, 29, was lifted off his feet and clung on to the raging animal's horns after he was hoisted up and carried around the amphitheatre in Arles, southern France.
Video captured the black bull ramming Roca Rey who then flailed helplessly as he grappled to free himself from between the horns.
Others rushed to Roca Rey's aid and frantically try to subdue the bull, known as Vicioso. As seconds pass, a group of around ten men managed to halt the beast and hold up the bullfighter, before they were able to free him.
The group then tried to distract the bull with coloured sheets, leading it away from the bloodied Peruvian matador who was helped to his feet.
The beaten and bruised bullfighter then, remarkably, returned to face the bull – which was stabbed by one banderilla, a barbed wooden dart used in Spanish bullfighting.

Data center debacle as 'computer glitch' causes 5k gallons of diesel fuel to spill into New Jersey wetlands
Thousands of gallons of diesel fuel have spilled from a New Jersey data center into wetlands feeding the Hackensack River, sparking a major cleanup operation and fury over the industry's rapid expansion across the state.
Around 5,000 gallons of fuel escaped from a storage tank at Equinix's NY2 data center in Secaucus on Friday evening before flowing into Anderson Creek, a narrow tributary running through the environmentally sensitive Meadowlands.
Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli blamed the massive spill on a 'computer glitch,' although Equinix said it was still investigating exactly what went wrong.
Trump LOSES mail-in ballot crackdown fight as Supreme Court rejects his eleventh-hour plea with weeks to midterm elections
The Supreme Court handed President Donald Trump a major loss in his quest to restrict the use of mail-in ballots just weeks before the midterm elections.
Lawyers for Trump had asked the Supreme Court to allow his executive order allowing US Postal Service rules allowing the government to 'check' mail-in ballots against a central repository of registered voters in each state - and reject ballots from voters not listed in the database.
The appeal was the third time the Trump administration asked the high court to intervene - in a sign of its outsize interest in the matter.

Leaked video exposes $300,000 secret operation to score a Trump pardon
Ammon was offered a $300,000 package by two lobbyists to help secure a presidential pardon
A hidden–camera operation caught two right–wing provocateurs and lobbyists pitching their services in the lucrative, emerging industry of brokers courting individuals looking for pardons from President Donald Trump.
Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl were filmed in conversation with a convicted felon at the bar inside the glitzy Ritz–Carlton in Tysons Corner, Virginia, last month.
Ammon Covino, an aquarium operator who spent almost two years behind bars for the illegal interstate transport of a shark and a stingray, was chatting to the pair with his wife, Crystal.
Burkman and Wohl pitched a $300,000 package to help Covino secure a presidential pardon, a plan that involved enlisting influencers to publicly champion his cause.
They tout their connections and direct line to the President.

The overprescription of America: expert warns too many people may be prescribed antidepressants
Drugs for treating depression are among the most prescribed category of medications in the US, with one in 6 American adults taking them.
Recently, some health researchers and advocates have raised concerns that too many patients are using antidepressants and that patients who want to stop taking them struggle to do so.
One of the most prominent voices on this point is Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, who launched an effort in May 2026 encouraging doctors to find alternative ways besides antidepressants and other psychiatric drugs to treat depression when possible.
As experts in psychiatry have seen, there are both benefits and problems with antidepressants, and there are grains of truth to claims that they are overused, but the full picture is much more nuanced.
Over half of all antidepressant medications prescribed are a type of drug called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs. The first SSRI – fluoxetine, better known by its brand name Prozac – was approved in 1987.
