Heineken slashes 6,000 jobs because Americans are giving up on beer
The move comes as beer loses its grip on American drinkers. On Wednesday, Heineken reported a 1.2 percent decline in total sales volumes in 2025, even though the flagship Heineken brand itself eked out gains.
The broader trend is harder to ignore. Just 54 percent of US adults say they drink alcohol - the lowest level in nearly 90 years of tracking, according to a recent Gallup survey. Even among those who do drink, many say they are cutting back.

Jewish (Dem) STORMS OUT of Pam Bondi hearing as AG invokes anti-Semitism during Epstein grilling
https://old.bitchute.com/video/k60W6OH7wPAk/
Pam Bondi traded barbs with just about every Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday in a ferocious hearing over the Epstein files.
Donald Trump's Attorney General caused mayhem as she fired back at lawmakers, branding Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin 'a loser', accusing Republican Thomas Massie of 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' and sparking laughter as she ranted about the booming stock market.
Bondi's combative performance led to a total meltdown from Rep. Becca Balint who stormed out of the hearing after the Attorney General seemingly grew frustrated by one of many questions about Jeffrey Epstein, and launched into an attack on the Democrat's voting record - accusing her of antisemitism for not supporting Israel.
Balint was the first Jewish congress member to use the term 'genocide' to describe the war in Gaza.
'With this antisemitic culture, she voted against a resolution condemning...' Bondi said, before being interrupted by Balint.
'You want to go there? …. You're talking to a woman who lost her grandfather in the Holocaust,' Balint responded, before slamming her chair into the dais behind her and storming out of the room, fuming.
Trump quietly withdraws National Guard troops in retreat from blue cities after court losses
Members of the National Guard have been quietly leaving major US cities and returning home after the Trump administration's widespread deployments.
After the president surged thousands of troops to Los Angeles, Chicago and Portland, the federal protective mission has since been wound down, according to US Northern Command.
At the height of the National Guard's deployment, there were 5,000 troops in LA, around 500 in Chicago and 200 in Portland.
Now all of those troops have been sent home, and without any public announcement from the Pentagon or White House.
National Guard soldiers deployed under different authorities, like those in Washington, DC, New Orleans and Memphis, were not withdrawn by the Pentagon.
Around 2,500 National Guard troops are expected to remain in the nation's capital until the end of this year, according to the Washington Post, which first reported on the withdrawals.

- The board aims to stabilize Gaza under a U.N. resolution amid a fragile ceasefire.
- Critics argue Trump's board resembles colonialism and lacks Palestinian representation.
The board will hold its first meeting on Feb. 19 in Washington to discuss Gaza's reconstruction.

Countries have reacted cautiously to Trump's invitation to join the board launched in late January. Many experts are concerned that the board could undermine the United Nations.

Millions of student loan borrowers aren't repaying their loans — and defaults are up
Nearly 10% of student loan balances are more than 90 days past due, according to the report.
The stakes are high, not only for borrowers but for the broader U.S. economy. Americans in default can have up to 15% of their disposable pay garnished by the government. The government can also garnish income tax refunds and Social Security benefits. Borrowers' credit also takes a hit, making it much more difficult to buy a car or home or even rent an apartment.
