Yet, instead of stemming the problem at its roots—by ending illegal migration—the state of North Rhine-Westphalia intends to educate the public with the message that life “without knives is better.” The state’s police force recently launched a campaign to deter people from carrying knives in public. Under the motto “Besser ohne Messer” (Better without knives) the police intend to inform citizens about the dangers of carrying knives.
Their online information leaflet—which is available in ten languages, including Arabic, Turkish, Russian, and Ukrainian—says people should leave their knives at home in the first place, so as not to be “tempted” to use them.

Elk Fire burning in the Bighorn National Forest
Bighorn National Forest northern Wyoming for the Elk Fire. In an update Monday morning, fire officials said the wildfire has been mapped at 72,998 acres. A total of 680 personnel are currently assigned to fight the fire, which was first reported on Sept. 27.
Two homes have been lost to the flames, and evacuation orders remain in place for many areas affected by the fire.

US Supreme Court argues the legality of Biden's 'ghost guns' restrictions
The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments on Tuesday over the legality of a 2022 regulation issued by President Joe Biden's administration cracking down on "ghost guns," largely untraceable firearms whose use has proliferated in crimes nationwide.
The administration is appealing a lower court's decision declaring that the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives exceeded its authority in issuing the rule targeting parts and kits for ghost guns, which can be purchased online and quickly assembled at home.
The rule clarified that these kits and components are covered by the definition of "firearm" under a 1968 federal law called the Gun Control Act and that commercial manufacturers of such kits must become licensed.
