West Jordan takes on nationwide initiative to recruit women to police force
The West Jordan Police Department is hoping to increase that number, as the department looks for ways to diversify its staff to better reflect the community it serves.
The department signed on to the national 30x30 Initiative. The goal is to have 30% female police recruits by the year 2030. Through the initiative, Zavala explained, the department will look for ways to recruit more women who might not otherwise consider the policing profession.
COMMENTS - Why? Police work is potentially dangerous, but mostly just boring, tedious, and repetitious. It's the dangerous moments that i believe women should not be unnecessarily exposed to. Also, the potential for a physical altercation with offender(s) with greater size and strength is a potential for an officer to be overpowered. Diversity is a trap.
