Utah Marine among 13 US service members killed in Afghanistan blast
SALT LAKE CITY — A U.S. Marine from Utah was among the 13 U.S. service members who were killed in Thursday's attack outside the Kabul airport.
Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover was killed in the suicide bombing at the Kabul airport that also left more than 100 Afghans dead, Hoover's family confirmed to KSL-TV on Friday.
Tributes filled social media from friends, family members and even those who had never met Hoover, many calling him a hero.

Police ‘Drag’ College Student Out of Class for Refusing to Wear Face Mask

The three schools announced the mandates after the Pfizer vaccine received full federal authorization this week.
There will be medical, religious and personal exemptions permitted, as all public colleges currently allow for other vaccine requirements, such as the shot for measles, mumps and rubella. That’s required by the state.
Nelson and the spokespeople for USU and Weber State said students will likely be required to show proof of vaccination or an approved exception form before spring classes start in January.
At the U., the state’s flagship college in Salt Lake City, the mandate could include up to the 33,000 students there. Nelson, though, noted that about 67% have already been vaccinated.
That leaves roughly 9,000 needing to get the vaccine.
