Summit County sheriff's officials say the 64-year-old former Utah Jazz center was found unconscious following an apparent bike crash and later died at a hospital.
Eaton was found unconscious on Long Rifle Road near his home in Summit County Friday evening following an apparent bike crash. Medical personnel arrived at the scene and Eaton was transported to a nearby hospital where he died.
The Summit County Sheriff's Office said there were no witnesses to the crash and no reason to believe a vehicle was involved in the incident. The Utah Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of Eaton's death.

Marc Boom, the CEO of Houston Methodist, a firm that runs eight hospitals with more than 26,000 employees, gave personnel a June 7 deadline to get vaccinated. Northwest Miami-Dade – Miami Dade police are investigating a mass shooting that left more than 20 people injured in what detectives described as a “targeted act of violence.”
Victims were rushed to several hospitals in Miami Dade and Broward counties, some in their personal vehicles according to police.
Miami Dade police director Freddy Ramirez said a business was rented out for a concert Saturday May 29th into Sunday morning.
During the concert, patrons were standing outside when a white SUV pulled up, three subjects stepped out of their vehicle with assault rifles and handguns and began shooting indiscriminately into the crowd.
