Thirty-two Republican lawmakers sent a letter to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky asking how the agency reached their determination that children over two years old have to wear masks.
The lawmakers requested that Walensky provide the group with “information on how the [CDC] came to its conclusion that children two years and older should wear facemasks to mitigate the spread of COVID-19” in a letter led by Senator Mike Lee, R-Utah, sent on Thursday.

President Trump has demanded that either Arizona state police or the National Guard are sent out by Governor Ducey to protect the current forensic audit taking place in Maricopa County, as legal action initiated by Democrats continues against the audit.
National File reported on the efforts from Democrats in Arizona to stop the full forensic audit of the 2020 votes from Maricopa County, ironically citing spurious arguments that the integrity of the audit was compromised. They argued that the private firm hired by Republican Senate President Karen Fann to carry out the audit, Cyber Ninjas, was not qualified to conduct the audit, and that they were ironically concerned about the integrity of the audit. They also noted that the CEO of the company, Doug Logan, supported the “Stop the Steal” efforts, insinuating that he would not perform the audit properly.
In a statement on Saturday, President Trump reiterated calls for Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to “immediately provide large-scale security for the brave American Patriots doing the Forensic Audit of the 2020 Presidential Election,” suggesting that Ducey either send out the state police or National Guard to the audit site. “Governor Ducey will be held fully responsible for the safety of those involved,” President Trump said. “The Democrats do not want to have this information revealed, and they will do anything to stop it. Turning dirt into gold? Scam lands Utah, California men behind bars
Promoting a "revolutionary" technology to turn dirt into gold landed three men from Utah and California in federal prison for stealing some $8 million from mostly older investors.
Two of those involved in the scam, Marc Andrew Tager, 55, of Sandy, and Jonathon Edward Shoucair, 69, of North Hills, California, met in prison while serving time for previous fraud convictions.
"This scam was pretty in depth and involved a high degree of deceit to pull off," said Brian Maxwell, Utah Department of Commerce spokesman.
Tager, Shoucair and Matthew Earl Mangum, 51, of South Jordan, acted as leaders of the scheme and told investors they had created a plan to make money by extracting gold from dirt using a revolutionary process developed by Mangum, who was held out as an expert in metallurgy and the refining of precious metals.
They told people that they controlled a proprietary, breakthrough nanotechnology that used environmentally friendly means to pull microscopic particles of gold from dirt.
