Democrats will unveil on Thursday a plan to change the composition of the Supreme Court, it was reported on Wednesday, and increase the number of justices from nine to 13. The proposal, reported by The Intercept, is likely to spark strong protest from Republicans, who warned during the election that Joe Biden would try and change the court's composition. The Supreme Court is currently conservative leaning, with six conservative judges seated. Donald Trump appointed three: Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett. The new plan is being promoted in the House by the Judiciary Committee Chairman, Jerry Nadler, Subcommittee chair Hank Johnson, and freshman Rep. Mondaire Jones. In the Senate, the bill is being championed by Ed Markey of Massachusetts. Biden himself refused to say before the election what his position was. In 1995 described efforts to expand the Supreme Court as 'boneheaded'. But, under pressure from progressives within his party, he said last week that he was forming a special commission to investigate the issue. The formation of a 36-member commission was announced by the White House on April 9. Biden's move was called a 'power grab', and a 'move by the radical left when they can't get what they want'. The commission will still go ahead despite this attempt to act before it has even begun.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Daphne Oberg placed strict conditions on John Earle Sullivan, 26, including barring him from social media and from attending protests and subjecting his electronic devices to monitoring and searches.
Sullivan also must wear a location monitor, remain at his Sandy residence and find a job outside of Insurgence USA, a social justice group he founded that calls itself anti-fascist and protests police brutality. He also cannot possess firearms.

Sen. Mike Lee wants to make gun silencers easier to buy
While President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats look for ways to tighten federal gun laws, Utah Sen. Mike Lee wants to undo regulations on an accessory known as a silencer.
Lee said the steps needed to buy a silencer or suppressor amount to gun control.
"The current, oppressive process required to buy silencers only hurts the eardrums of millions of hunters, sportsmen and marksmen each year, and serves to provide surreptitious gun control," he said in a statement.
Lee said his bill, the Silencers Helping Us Save Hearing Act, would eliminate the "onerous" regulation to make a legal sport safer for millions of Americans. Sens.
