Utah Governor signs permit-less concealed carry bill into law
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Gov. Spencer Cox signed five bills into law on Friday, including a bill that would make it legal to concealed carry a gun in Utah without a permit.
House Bill 60 was sponsored by Rep. Walt Brooks (R-St. George).
The bill specifies that those who carry concealed weapons must be over 21 and be legally allowed to possess a firearm.
The National Association for Gun Rights celebrated Cox's action on Friday, saying "Utahns are getting the Second Amendment rights the founders intended."
"Constitutional Carry is the simple concept that law-abiding citizens who are legally allowed to possess a handgun, should also be allowed to carry that handgun openly, or concealed, without having to pay a tax or obtain a government permit," the association wrote.
The new law goes into effect on May 5.

- The Civil War was coming to an end when Booth, 26, shot President Abraham Lincoln during a play at Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC on April 14, 1865
- The 16th president, who had steered the nation through the brutal conflict over slavery, died the next day. The country was in shock over the assassination

WHO'S BEHIND ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S ASSASSINATION?
(Jesuit) John H. Surratt was Booth's right hand man shown on the original Wanted poster (above) John H. Surratt met Booth at Jesuit Georgetown University. 18 month's after Lincoln's Assassination the US government finally found John H. Surratt as the pope's bodyguard (shown below) at the time of his arrest in his papal uniform:
After the trial, the US Congress enacted a 1867 U.S. law to cut off full diplomatic relations with the Vatican because of their hand in the cover up of ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S ASSASSINATION (Jesuit) John H. Surratt who was found at the VATICAN (pictured above) at the time of his arrest as the pope's personal bodyguard. READ: Brigadier General Thomas M. After 117 years, the
US Congress 1867 U.S. law to banned the Vatican was repealed on
January 10, 1984 by President Reagan...Within months of President Reagan’s
inaugural in 1981, President Reagan moved quickly and on January 10, 1984,
announced that full diplomatic relations between the United States and the
Vatican had been established. The
President did this over the opposition of the office of the Secretary of State.
What a difference 32 years could make! In 1952 there were demonstrations and
loud opposition. In 1984, there were few manifestations against the Vatican or
Catholicism...One of those speaking strongly in favor of the Holy See
role at the UN was the Hon. George W. Bush, then the Governor of Texas.

How the 'buffalo soldiers' became some of the first national park rangers
About a dozen national parks were created in the decades leading up to the Park Service; however, the U.S. needed people who were able to tend and maintain the land.
As the National Park Service wrote, the country mostly turned to military members in the early years of national parks. The famed "buffalo soldiers" were a major contributor.
Military groups were racially segregated after the Civil War. There were six infantries of African American soldiers formed in 1866 that were sent out West.
The infantries ended up in U.S. wars with Native American tribes that played out throughout the remainder of the century. Native Americans would go on to dub the all-Black 9th and 10th Cavalry Regiments "buffalo soldiers" for an unknown reason, History.com noted. The nickname stuck throughout history.
