New Mexico — At least two people have died and hundreds have been rescued in Roswell, New Mexico, according to the New Mexico State Police, after extreme overnight rainfall brought severe flooding, stranding motorists and sweeping away cars.

Grandfather Jailed for Shouting at Police during Riots in Britain Commits Suicide in Prison
A 61-year-old grandfather who was sent to prison for shouting at police during the summer’s riots in Britain has committed suicide in prison.
Peter Lynch took his life at HMP Moorland, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, on Saturday.

The Court heard that Lynch went to a hotel that was housing migrants and took a placard that said the police, members of parliament and the media were “corrupt.”
At the sentencing hearing, Judge Jeremy Richardson KC said Lynch shouted “racist and provocative remarks” towards officers and called asylum seekers in the hotel “child killers.”
