Her company acquired Miss Universe from Endeavor Group Holdings-owned IMG Worldwide, who, in turn, had purchased it from Donald Trump.
“I don’t call Miss Universe a beauty pageant anymore. I call it a women’s empowerment competition,” Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip said.
Sometimes stylized as Anne JKN, the businesswoman claims to be a role model in her country, applauding the fact that in Thailand they “really celebrate trans people.”
However, the speech pushing “empowerment” made by a biological male did not impress Internet users who tuned in to watch the final of a beauty pageant that positions itself as “RUN BY WOMEN FOR WOMEN.”

Footage shows hundreds of stickers representing loved ones believed to have been killed by the vaccines plastered on the BBC studio’s windows in London.
A couple of the stickers were fashioned together to create the phrase “Tell the truth” and “Jabs Kill.”
A banner hanging in front of the building also says, “BBC is the Virus!”
Canada Court Denies Trial for Woman Allegedly Killed by Security Guards Over No Covid Mask
An Ontario judge has dismissed the trial of a woman who died after security guards restrained her for not wearing a mask during the COVID pandemic.
Security footage that will no longer be seen by a jury shows Danielle Stephanie Warriner wearing a medical gown sitting alone at the Toronto General Hospital in May 2020.
The guards, Amanda Rojas-Silva, 42, and Shane Hutley, 35, had been charged with manslaughter and criminal negligence in Warriner’s death, charges they denied, claiming they used the necessary amount of force to hold her.
The judge struck the case from the docket in Nov. 2022, claiming there wasn’t enough evidence to bring it to trial.
But details of surrounding the case have many people raising eyebrows at the judge’s ruling.
