The group litigating the case, the Liberty Counsel, on Friday announced
it secured the settlement against NorthShore for “employees who were victims of
discrimination, and who were punished for their religious beliefs against

Workers who filed religious exemptions and were fired, or resigned, will
receive roughly $25,000 each, while workers who bent to pressure and took the
jab “against their religious beliefs to keep their jobs” will get $3,000 each.

House passes semi-automatic gun ban after 18-year lapse
The House legislation is shunned by Republicans, who dismissed it as an
election-year strategy by Democrats. Almost all Republicans voted against the
bill, which passed 217-213. It will likely stall in the 50-50 Senate.
That law provides for expanded background checks on young adults buying
firearms, allowing authorities to access certain juvenile records. It also
closes the so-called "boyfriend loophole" by denying gun purchases
for those convicted of domestic abuse outside of marriages.
The new law also frees up federal funding to the states, including for
"red flag" laws that enable authorities to remove guns
from those who would harm themselves or others.

Israel has just banned
using cash for purchases larger than $1,700 and instead requires
residents to use digital transfers or debit transactions. Prior to the
decision, cash transactions were capped at $3,200.
Exemptions for private citizens are in place, which allows for exchanges
of up to $4,360 in cash. In addition, charitable organizations and those
trading with Palestinians who are not citizens of Israel are also exempt for a
limited time.
Israeli officials have claimed that the new cash limit is to combat
criminal organizations that rely solely on cash trades.
