Utah Wildlife Board approves reduction of over 1K deer hunting permits
The Utah Wildlife Board on Thursday approved a reduction of 950 general-season deer permits, as well as 350 total fewer limited-entry and antlerless deer permits after the state biologists reported the state's mule deer population fell by 9,150 last year to an estimated 305,700 deer. The number of deer is nearly 100,000 below the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources' objective goal for the state.

When questioned over the weekend if the Department Of Homeland Security’s new ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ will spy on Americans, Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claimed that it will not have “operational authority” and will instead “disseminate those best practices to the operators that have been executing and addressing this threat for years.”
CNN anchor Dana Bash noted of the disinformation board that “Republicans are calling it ‘Orwellian’ and comparing it to the Ministry of Truth in the novel ‘1984,’” further asking “Will it monitor American citizens?”

Plan to fill giant Utah caves with hydrogen gets $504M federal boost
Project under IPP plant near Delta — the first of its kind — would store enough green energy to power 30,000 homes for a year
The U.S. Department of Energy has given conditional approval for a half-billion-dollar loan to a project to generate hydrogen from clean sources and pump it into two caves as tall as the Empire State Building near Delta.
The Advanced Clean Energy Storage project is part of an effort to convert the 40-year-old Intermountain Power Plant, now burning coal, to 100% renewable energy by 2045. Plans call for first converting the plant to burn a mixture of natural gas and hydrogen, with the hydrogen produced from solar and wind energy.
The hydrogen will be stored in two caves below the plant for use when solar and wind are not enough to meet demand. Eventually, the plan is to burn only hydrogen, all produced from renewables.
The loan will be used to help build out the facility that will store and supply hydrogen to a 840-megawatt IPP gas turbine that will initially run on 30% hydrogen/70% natural gas starting in 2025. It will be completely hydrogen-powered by 2045, with the hydrogen produced from renewable sources.

A new bill introduced by Rep. Lauren Boebert would eliminate Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board, dubbed a ‘Ministry of Truth’ by critics, before it even got off the ground.
The Department of Homeland Security recently announced that the new unit will focus primarily on “misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular migration and Russia.”
