Military courts could order ‘red flag’ gun confiscation under defense bill
A provision in the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act would allow military courts to issue protective orders that include “Red Flag” gun confiscation, according to the more than 1,300-page bill.
In the legislation, those beholden to the United States Code of Military Justice could be issued a “military court protective order” by a military judge or magistrate, which would make “possessing, receiving, or otherwise accessing a firearm” illegal.

Under the plan, companies with 100 or more employees would have to require their workers to be vaccinated or undergo at least weekly COVID-19 testing. Failure to comply with the rules could lead to penalties up to $14,000 per violation.

Assembly Bill 1346 would end the production of gas-powered small, off-road engines--used in lawn and garden equipment and generators-- by January 1, 2024.

"A lot of folks who create these laws forget that here in the Central Valley, it's over 100 degrees, many, many days during the summer. When the grid has to be shut down for one reason or another, folks have no other options when it comes to powering not only their air conditioning, but also their medical devices,” Magsig says.
